Hello! Before our school year starts I wanted to give you the opportunity to learn a few things about me.
My name is Lindsay Sommers. I grew up in Naperville, Illinois: a western suburb of Chicago. I moved to the Quad Cities in 2007. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2012 with my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and am certified birth – third grade with a certificate for preschool special education. I married my husband, Eric, in 2013. Together we have 6 year old boy/girl twins; Hunter and Ryleigh. I also have a 11 year old step-son, Oliver, who lives with us full time.
Prior to joining the staff at Jordan Catholic in 2015, I taught preschool through the statewide Preschool For All program in Rock Island for 3 academic school years. I also worked at Kindercare for 10 years with a variety of ages, but mostly Infants-2 year olds.
In my free time I love spending time with my family. I love to travel.I love photography, reading and music! My two sons are on the autism spectrum. This has led my husband and I to become very active in the local autism community promoting awareness and helping families connect with services.
I look forward to getting to know the children in my class and their families. I just know we will have a great year!
